My husband the screen writer

In a weird turn of events my husband helped write a short-film last night!

Idaho has a film competition called i48. People get together their film group and register. They have 48 hours to make a short film between 4 and 7 minutes. Every group is given a prop and a script line that must be used in their film and then they are given a genre. 48 hours later they must turn in a complete film for judging. So things need to be written, filmed and edited and all in 48 hours.

Brian has some friends he went to college with that do this competition every year. One of them is actually an aspiring director. We ran into him last night at a friend's house. The competition had just started and he had lost his writer. Luckily, there was my husband who helped him last night. It was kind of cool. The director friend has a bunch of stuff on YouTube which I will not link because none of them are good. I actually find his short movies dumb. He tends to do only parody's directly stealing lines from multiple films. I don't find that very original. Plus most of the things he steals are incredibly vulgar and 12 year old boy toilet humor. Brian had to do a lot of arguing with him and finally settled back on the argument "Does that logically make sense?"

In the end the film Brian came up with is fairly cool and is rather nice for only 3 hours of discussion! Last year the director didn't finish his film in time so it wasn't in the competition. Here's hoping he'll get it in in time this year because Brian wrote a good film!
