I guess this is a good thing.

I'm not sure how I handled football season last year because wow! I just feel like there is not enough time in the week. Especially because I know last year I was going insane and planning the wedding. How did I do that and have a job? I guess it comes down to the fact that I had to, not much choice in the matter.
This year I'm exercising more, so that might also be part of it. But wow, there is just no time. I haven't seen certain friends in weeks and weeks just because we are all so busy right now. How am I this busy with no job? I've been getting up at 8 every day just to get stuff done and yet, things just stack up. I don't know. Mystery of the universe I guess.
Back to football, Brian's team is doing fairly well. They lost their first game due to some silly mistakes. It kind of looked like the boys forgot how to play football. The second game started out like the first but then they managed to pull it together and win. I'm hoping they do just as well this weekend. This year the kids are in a playoff system. The first team was not in their bracket so it's ok that they lost. The rest of these teams are in their bracket so if the boys want to make it to the playoffs, they need to win!
I've also had some good health news. I can stop taking my acne pill medicine, the one that makes me ultra sensitive to sunlight. Hurray! I am still using two topical lotions that make my face sensitive to sunlight, but at least the rest of me isn't going to burn when exposed to sunlight. It's fairly nice not having horrible acne. Only took me 18 years to figure this stuff out. Hurray modern medicine.
That is about it with me right now. I need to learn some time management or something I think!

Day 4

Well, it's hard but i'm giving up coffee. Ugh...... it's because of that evil caffeine that I need to slowly ease myself off my addiction. Everything i've read says to start mixing in decaf with regular, but in my opinion that still doesn't get around the problem since decaf still has caffeine in it.
I'm not crazy. There was no cold turkey. I love my husband but I didn't think me being incredibly tired or cranky was going to go over well in this house. I was drinking between 14 and 20 ounces of coffee a day. This week i'm on day 4 and i'm down to 8 ounces.
The headaches had subsided yesterday so that makes me very happy. It's tough. I have been drinking my lovely beverage for years and years. It's yummy and I enjoy it's happy warmness in the morning. So... that will suck, especially with fall approaching.
But I need to do it for my health, so here it goes!
Day 4 and I'm surviving.

College Football has started

I am currently at a sports bar here in Boise called Busters. It's a local version of Hooters. I've had people ask me if I'm a blogger because i've been typing since I got here. Yes, I am a blogger, but not a sports blogger. That threw some Oregon fans for a loop. I've been here since 3 and the game starts at 8. I'm trying to get a lot done. Our table holder has been here since 11am. *sigh* Oh it's college football season. We just had to tackle some dude who tried to take our empty chair.

Progress!

I lost a pound last week! I'm pretty pleased with that. I also found out that I am down a belt loop!
Here is the story because of course there is a story.
Brian and I were getting ready to go out for dinner on Saturday. His football coaching season has started and the first two weeks are always hard. He comes home from work and then goes to practice for two or more hours. Then he usually has to deal with parents and e-mails from the organization when he gets time. He's also exercising in the morning so he is exhausted by 9. This weekend we spent the whole 2 days together and he was absolutely wonderful.
Anyway, he's taking me out to dinner and I can't get my stupid belt to fasten. I can't figure out what is going on and I'm struggling and feeling dumb that I can't get the belt post part through the dang hole. That's when it occurs to me... I've never used that belt loop hole before. THAT is why I actually had to look and fasten the belt, rather than doing it by habit. The belt loop hole was smaller than the other belt loops that I have used every day for months and months.
So other than I felt kind of dumb for being unable to dress myself, it was still really neat that I am down a belt loop!
Also, another nudge towards my other blog NutMeg's Goodies. I have also started a group page on Facebook, so you will be getting an invite from me on that. This blog is new, so I'd like to hear what kind of website YOU would use. One you would visit regularly. I'm not there yet, but I hope to update NutMeg's Goodies every day. Right now I'm going to have a recipe a week, and a website recommendation every week. Let me know what else you would like to see!

It's live

I mentioned a secondary blog project a few months ago, well here it is!
NutMeg's Goodies
I'm still working with what I want this blog to be. I originally was going to have it be all cooking, but the thought bores me, so I am going to have it be whatever I want it to be. Just less about me and Brian. More about... consumerism? Who knows! I'll have recipes, home improvement, links, and whatever else I can think of. I'm trying to improve my photography too. So check it out and add it to your blog role.

New Tool

I have a new tool that I am completely enamored with. It's an online tool. Ok, i'll just tell you. It is The Krazy Coupon Lady.
I am on this website every day it seems. My favorite feature is the "coupon" tag where it lists all products with online coupons that are available for print. Sometimes these coupons are not available in your area (I'm looking at you Angel Soft and Jello) but the majority are. Idaho even has available some generic "Any kind of cheese" coupons.
This week I saved 10 dollars in groceries and I wasn't even trying!
My project is to get a master list and track prices and such at various stores. Sometimes, Krazy Coupon lady will do some comparisons. She did a good one on meat products with Wal-mart vs. Winco vs. Albertsons. That's the kind of stuff that I like. She has many links which are a big help, I found another coupon blogger in the Boise area that has posted about multiple sales going on. Example: 79 cent liter's of Coke last weekend at Albertsons. We might have stocked up on Coke Zero. I might have cleaned out the store. I might have only spent 5 dollars.
I hope that if you have not discovered this website on your own, this link helps. It is AMAZING how much money you can save. Plus, I have started to try out some new products that are less expensive with the coupons than what I normally buy and found new products I like!
So let me know if this helps or if you use this web site. I'm still learning all the lingo and how I can better use the coupons or store discount combinations. But right now I have the time so I might as well save our family some money!

Motivation

I had a comment about motivation, so I thought I would use that as a topic with the added topic of being healthy which in my case means loosing weight.
What motivates us?
The first time I lost weight my motivation started as inspiration. Kristie Alley was on Oprah talking about how she was starting Jenny Craig. One of the things she said that got me was that many overweight single women won't loose weight in the opes of finding a guy. We say to ourselves, "He'll love me for me." Kristie said, is this you? This self conscious, unhealthy, sad person, is that you. Is this overweight person you? Then why would that future guy fall in love with you?
Let me just say that I pulled a Neo and said "Whoa." About a year later I was 40 pounds lighter and had myself the perfect man. (Current husband.) But then I started to ignore all the lessons I had learned. I had only had one motivation to loose weight and that was to find a guy. Once I lost that motivation I didn't come up with another reason and so gained back 30 of those pounds. By then I had gotten over the idea of being the "fat girl" so I was much more comfortable in whatever weight I was in.
Searching for motivation has been hard. I have a wonderful and supportive husband but I still have to find motivation on my own. I can't do this for him, I have to do this for me.
My big motivator right now is to get my blood pressure and cholesterol down. We are getting closer to the time when we are going to start making the babies, but I don't want to do that and be unhealthy. It's hard enough when you are in good shape, I don't want to struggle while worrying about high blood pressure. This is the big thing that hangs over my head. It stopped me today when I said "I really want a cupcake."
But I have small things too. I bought a pair of shorts two months ago that were too tight. I was able to wear them for the first time last week. Shorts! I had one pair of shorts that were two sizes too big that I mow the lawn. Now I have cute little khaki shorts that show my legs. My very white legs, but there they are, out for the world to see and I feel great in them.
Clothes are a good motivator for me right now. I have a tiny black dress that I want to get back in. Before that I have a couple skirts that don't fit right now. I hope to wear them in the next month.
I always think focusing on the little things can help when that BIG thing just seems to large to master.
So what is your motivation?
